Description:THE LPA GROUP INCORPORATED performed the design to reconstruct and overlay the Daytona Beach International Airport's primary Runway 7L-25R and all associated connector taxiways. The runway consists of approximately 10,500 feet of bituminous asphalt pavement with 25 foot paved shoulders. Design elements included profile grade correction, pavement design, precision runway marking layout, cross slope correction, runway light adjustments, and construction phasing. Improvements to the keel section of the 7L end included a concrete center portion to better withstand aircraft loads and high water table conditions.
