Description:

THE LPA GROUP INCORPORATED was given the primary task of rehabilitating the airport's primary runway and parallel taxiway, but also utilized the primary runway shut down to take care of some additional airfield projects at the direction of the client. In order to extend the existing asphalt pavements life, the primary runway (Runway 11-29) and parallel taxiway (Taxiway 'A') pavements went through a complete crack sealing and pavement rejuvenation process. In coordination with the closure of the primary runway, the runway's electrical components were overhauled completely, replacing all edge lighting components, new conduit and wiring through the length of the runway, installation of new lights around Taxiway 'A4', and the installation of a new airfield beacon. New lights were installed where nearly 15,000 square yards of old pavement was removed - remnants of an old abandoned runway. Paving of an FAA access road, erosion control, grassing, and the installation of new Runway Hold Position in-pavement markings completed the project and put the airport in compliance with new FAA regulations.
